ESD-sensitive components, assemblies and circuit boards must also be stored safely away from the workstation. An ESD shelf or ESD cabinet is part of the EPA and, like all other components, must be dissipative and grounded. This is the only way to avoid charging during storing and retrieval, which can occur with non-dissipative storage furniture.

ESD shelving can be adapted to changing storage volumes and room layouts. With additional shelves and add-on elements, you can expand existing ESD shelving step by step without replacing the entire system. They are suited to holding containers, magazines, PCB carriers and cartons in goods receiving, production and warehouse areas.

ESD Cabinet: Protected Storage Against Dust and Dirt

Compared with open shelving, an ESD cabinet offers additional protection against dust and contamination and is suited to components, tools and assemblies that do not need to be permanently accessible. The enclosed design keeps the contents clean and organized even during longer storage.

Do Not Forget Grounding and Testing

An ESD cabinet or ESD shelf only protects if it is integrated into your EPA's grounding concept. Therefore, check the resistance regularly as part of your measurements in accordance with DIN EN 61340-5-1. We are happy to support you in selecting and planning your storage solution.
