ESD Disposable Coats: Hygienic ESD Protection for Single Use

Not everyone entering an EPA needs permanent protective clothing. For visitors, external personnel, service technicians or short-term assignments in sensitive manufacturing and cleanroom areas, an ESD disposable coat is often the more practical solution than a reusable ESD lab coat. Like its reusable counterpart, the disposable coat dissipates electrostatic charge in a controlled way, preventing uncontrolled discharges caused by friction against clothing.

Construction and Material

ESD disposable coats are typically made from a lightweight nonwoven fabric with conductive carbon fibers worked in. This keeps the coat comfortable to wear while remaining reliably dissipative – even after just a single use. After use, the coat is simply disposed of; there is no need for cleaning or re-testing the surface resistance before the next use.

When a Disposable Coat Pays Off

Especially in areas with frequently changing personnel or visitor traffic – such as plant tours, audits or short service assignments – an ESD disposable coat saves time and administrative effort compared to a pool of reusable coats. In hygiene-critical environments such as medical technology or cleanrooms, the disposable option is also often the preferred choice, since every coat is guaranteed unused.

Compliant Protection, Even for Single Use

Even though ESD disposable coats are designed for short-term use, they meet the requirements for dissipative protective clothing under DIN EN 61340-5-1. For permanent use at fixed workstations, we still recommend our reusable ESD lab coats – for all other cases, our ESD disposable coats are the fast, uncomplicated alternative.
