ESD heel straps turn any shoe into ESD footwear, ensuring effective grounding in ESD areas that require ESD flooring.
For shoes with high heels, straps with a contact surface on the ball of the foot are available.
For short-term use and visitors to ESD zones, disposable heel straps are available that can be inserted into existing shoes.

ESD Heel Straps – Permanent or Single-Use Solutions
ESD heel straps are available in two basic versions: as permanent heel straps for daily use in production environments, and as single-use heel straps for visitors, auditors or temporary EPA access scenarios. Permanent heel straps are available in various widths, fastening systems (velcro or snap closure) and colours – depending on operational requirements. For shoes with high heels or orthopedic insoles, the permanent toe strap with contact point in the ball of the foot area, or the sole strap system for heel and ball, which combines both contact points and is tested per ANSI/ESD STM97.2, is recommended.
Selection by Application
The choice of the right ESD heel strap depends on shoe type, wearing duration and frequency of use:
- Permanent heel strap black / blue (velcro closure) – Standard solution for flat work shoes, easy handling for daily use.
- Permanent heel strap extra wide / extremely robust – For increased mechanical stress and long wearing comfort in production environments.
- Permanent toe strap – For shoes with heels or special shapes, resistance 1 MΩ, conductive rubber at the ball of the foot, sizes S–L.
- Sole strap system for heel and ball – Maximum grounding reliability with two contact points, body voltage below 60 volts, ANSI/ESD S20.20 compliant.
- Single-use heel strap (pack of 100) – Self-adhesive, conductive polyester strap, ideal for visitor management and EPA access control. Matching wall bracket available separately.
