Humans as the main cause of ESD
Humans are considered the main cause of electrostatic discharge (ESD) because they can build up large amounts of static electricity through everyday activities. This happens, for example, through friction with synthetic materials such as carpets or clothing, which store charges on the body's surface.
When this charge is then transferred to sensitive electronic components, they can be damaged or destroyed by the sudden discharge. The combination of frequent contact with sensitive technology and the unconscious build-up of charges makes humans one of the biggest risk factors for ESD.
