Why intact sockets are important

Checking socket function in the ESD area is absolutely crucial to ensure the safety and functionality of ESD protection measures.

Correct earthing is the basis of ESD protection.

  • the earthing is not present or is not continuous
  • the ESD protection elements are not effective → risk to components!

All ESD protection elements (e.g. table mats, wrist straps, floor coverings) must be connected to earth. A defective or incorrectly wired socket can mean that:
